Terrakota cluster at Siyava village which is 6 km. from Aburoad in Sirohi district has proved this statement. Poor Tribal women are working in this cluster. Their land holdings are not sufficient to get the food production that can fulfill the need for the whole year. Also they are mostly illiterate.

But the poor tribal women have the hidden art and inherent skill in ‘clay modeling’,Garasiya and Rebari community women are mainly involved in this art. The clay used in this art is transported from nearby village Reodar. The models made of different shapes are later attractively coloured and made alive by these Tribal women.

Another Tribe inRajasthan is Girasiyatribe. The literal meaning of the word Girasiya can be derived from‘Girahia’ meaning ‘ forest dwelling people’Thus they claim to be the original settlers of Mount and thick forests.

The ‘Girasiya’tribeis generally found in the Abu Road and Pindwara tehsils of Sirohi district. They claim that their place of origin is Abu (eastern part of Aburoad tehsil called Bhakar) and Chhappan. These places find their mention in many folk songs of Girasiyas. . The Girasiyas believe themselves to the descendants of Savji [Lord Shiva]. According to a mythological tradition, Savji fell in love with Amia, a Girasiya girl, daughter of Bhakarvavsi [mountain god] and lived in forests.

The Garasias have an interesting custom of marriage through elopement, which usually takes place at the annual Gaur Fair held during the full moon in March. After the elopement, which can be spontaneous or pre-arranged, a bride price is paid to the bride’s father.

Kinship organization is very significant among the Girasiyas. The girls have as much freedom as the boys in choosing their own partner. Widows are allowed to remarry.
